ECHO Report June 2001
Gloucestershire Novice Floor & Vault Championships
The event took place with an 8.45 am start on Sunday 10th June at The Forest of Dean Gymnastics & Fitness Centre Coleford.
It was business as usual at The Gym Centre Cheltenham this week, despite recent events, with teams entered from Fromeside G C Winterbourne, Kestrels G C Chepstow, Tetbury G C, and The Forest of Dean G C, The Gym Centre was still able to enter the largest number of competitors in this the first major competition of the year. They were made up of 24 Gymnast from the club and 4 Gymnasts from The Cheltenham School of Gymnastics School Club Link Programme with the Cheltenham College Junior School
With a lot of Girls only recently making the transition from recreational Gymnastics to competition work, this 2-piece competition was always going to be tough and the tension high but every Girl gave 110 percent.

All credit must go to a hard working team of Gymnast and Coaches that have fought to keep the club together over the last 6 months surely Cheltenham Borough Council must recognise from this, the need for a Centre for Gymnastics in Cheltenham.
